Emotional Regulation
CHALLENGES ALL TO BE PEACEMAKERS, CHANGEMAKERS
GROWS SELF
We educate for life and understand that leaders of character seek continued growth, which entails knowing ourselves and our individual gifts, taking responsibility for our words and actions, and managing our emotions.
CROSS-DIVISIONAL APPROACH
Our Leaders of Character expectation is embedded throughout the school and focuses on three behaviors that contribute to personal development: Grows Self, Serves Others, Builds Community.
We strengthen our students' emotional regulation by utilizing and modeling the teachings of SEL programs; Love and Logic, Conscious Discipline, Capturing Kids Hearts, and Moodsters.
BUILDS COMMUNITY
As Leaders of Character, we create community among those with whom we work, learn, and play by being considerate, honoring the dignity and specialness of each person, seeking to include others, and respecting and cooperating with each other.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND SOCIAL SKILLS
Taught at every age and grade level; with dedicated teacher advocates in each division promoting emotional intelligence and social skills.
A CULTURE OF EXTRAORDINARY CARE
Supports students who are new to the school and through transitions across each division.
