Composition is an important component of Language Arts that is not forgotten at our Academy. Our Early Childhood Learners have prewriting and early writing experiences to help them develop the confidence to become young writers and illustrators. 

Our Elementary and Middle School students have Writers Workshop mini lessons during their daily Composition time. K-2 focus on three traits of Six Trait Writing; Ideas and Content, Voice, and Conventions. Students in grades 3-8 focus on those traits and the three additional traits; Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, and Organization. Students have the opportunity to go through the Writing Process and produce compositions of the four fundamental writing types;

narrative, expository, persuasive, and technical/descriptive text.
